2 floors, one has more cardio machines and space for light weights and stretches. Other floor is for heavy weights and a studio where they do the classes. Locker rooms are clean and plenty of towels.

Great gym... The basem*nt is a little claustrophobic (probably because its a basem*nt) but the upper floor is nicely appointed with great machines and very clean.

Latest hours other than Broadway and 7th. If you're trying to squeeze in a workout before bed, this is the NYSC to hit up. Just be respectful and leave BEFORE closing time so staff doesn't have to ask
Nick OrozcoJuly 28, 2011
2 floors, the top has al the cardio machines and the basem*nt has the weights, and most of the machines. It's a small gym, but has all the necessary machinery. It's also really affordable.

SK Energy Tip: Instead of resting for a set period of time, only rest for as long as you need it. Start with a Street King and you’ll have non-stop energy for your whole workout.

Weekend afternoons are packed. But individual tv monitors on cardio machines do help with extra motivation. Lighter weights might be a problem here.

AC has been broken and barely working since May. Mgmt says "sorry". Sadly this is the closest gym to my apt. If you like the feeling of bikram yoga while doing your cardio this is your place.

Brand new, beautiful spin bikes upstairs close to the windows. Great feel, great improvement.

Don't go between 5 and 7pm...and some weekend hours because it feels like Grand Central. They run out of towels a lot. They need to hire more cleaners for the locker rooms and equipments.
Ashley BlackmonJanuary 24, 2012
Ewwww this place is horrible. The studio is oblong, has huge pillars in the middle of room, and not suitable for comfortable for yoga. It smells like feet and so do the mats! And it is in the basem*nt

They need to hire more cleaners for the locker rooms and equipments. Not too sanitary. Late and early hours only plus.
SailingsamJanuary 14, 2014
Very crowded location because of its proximity to a major subway stop. It is a rather small space for such a busy location. The Men's locker room has this eternal horrible smell.

It's nothing fancy and the staff is pretty out of it, but it gets the job done exercise-wise!

Promised $47 rate for 4 months, they "kept forgetting", "corporate pushed back", "manager wasn't in today". Now the new manager says he can't change the rate. Very dirty floors. Blink costs $30.

Pay the extra $30/month and go to Equinox 3 blocks down. Constantly broken machines, dirty feel and limited floor space. The only plus NYSC has is ubiquity in Manhattan
SemiraJune 5, 2013
One squat rack. No power rack. Rusty bars and clamps. No room to deadlift. Bad bad bad.
